Pete Veras is the Founder and President of the San Antonio Athenians. An American of Mexican and Dominican descent, Pete takes pride in Country, Faith, and Teamwork. A staple in the San Antonio community, Pete is an entrepreneur making waves in the marketing industry.

Carlos Garcia has been a member of the SAASC front office team since the clubs’ inception in 2016. Carlos is a 3 time graduate of UTSA with a B.S. in Kinesiology, M.S. in Kinesiology and Health, and M. Ed, in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Carlos is an avid sports enthusiast with a passion for professional sport growth in San Antonio. Carlos has been married for 20 years and he and his wife have 3 amazing children! He enjoys serving his community and teaching Math.

Paloma Aquino has been a member of the SAASC staff since 2016. A Florida native, she attended Hillsborough Community College and spent time helping at risk youth. Paloma enjoyed her time in Florida but got to Texas soon after. Since moving to San Antonio in 2014, Paloma has worked in medical account management. Those professional skills allow her to make a seamless transition into operations and community relations for SAASC. She is passionate about serving others and growing the game of women’s soccer in San Antonio. Paloma states her passion stems from her diverse Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage. In her spare time, Paloma enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, reading, and music. Paloma revels in the positive impact SAASC has had on individuals and communities over the years.
